- Honeybees fall into three caste systems (i) Drone (male) (ii) sterile worker (F) and (iii) Queen (F)
- Drones are developed only through parthenogenesis (arrhenotoky) and hence they are always haploid in nature (n)
- Worker and Queen are developed from sexual mating and reproduction and hence will be diploid. (2n)
- Differentiation of sterile works and queen is on the basis of food they are fed during their growth
